Schedule of Events, Speakers and Displays

The symposium is free to the public and will kick off with a guided beach walk with Dawn and Blair Witherington, authors of Florida’s Living Beaches, a Guide for the Curious Beachcomber.

  • Be sure to bring your found ocean gems and photos for a chance to win awards!
  • Try your hand at crafting in one of our sea glass seminars run by local artists to include wire wrapping, drilling, tumbling vs. natural found sea glass, and beach gem mosaics.
  • The day will also include local environmental education speakers and displays; learn about finding sharks teeth on the local islands, identifying sea-beans, what to do with stranded sea life, eliminating marine plastic debris, the benefits of aquaculture, and more.
  • You may also try your luck and “Guess the Sea Glass in a Jar”
  • Enter the art raffle to benefit the Sea Turtle Conservancy.
  • Be sure to peruse local beach crafters’ wares, and let the kids explore their own craft table. All “ocean gems” are combed not harvested.
