Speaker Bio:  Terri Kirby Hathaway

Terri joined North Carolina Sea Grant in 2003 after spending almost 20 years as the Education Curator at the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island. She has a BS in Marine Biology and a MAEd in Science Education.
Although Terri could teach a semester-long course on marine taxonomy using the contents of her jewelry box, Terri facilitates an online graduate course in oceanography for educators in North Carolina. She lives on North Carolina’s beautiful Outer Banks (Eastern United States) with her oceanographer husband and their four rowdy cats.

As stated below, Terri is a co-author of "North Carolina's Amazing Coast".

For even more about Terri, see the recent (Oct. 5, 2015) online article: Sea beans: A rare find on the Outer Banks.
[Note: The article states "Some sea hearts are more than 6 feet in diameter".
This is a misunderstanding with the writer, when Terri mentioned a greater than 6-foot long seed pod (which contains many seeds) of the seaheart vine!]
